Bring on the spinach.
But seriously, this is the best green smoothie I have tried. The key to this not tasting like spinach is blending it for a long time. If you are going to add ice, blend all of the ingredients first, and then add the ice once the spinach is completely broken down. Otherwise, you will have liiiiittle pieces of spinach all up in your teeth. Whomp, whomp.
Put ingredients in the blender in this order:
1/2 cup milk (1/4 if you want a thicker smoothie – 1/2 cup will give you consistency that you can drink with a straw)
1 cup spinach
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 banana, cut into pieces (can use frozen if desired – will give a thicker consistency)
1/3 cup plain greek yogurt (I used Wegmans 0%)
Blend and enjoy! And then have a cookie, because… that’s why we eat spinach for breakfast? Serves 1.
